Oxeani was founded in 2017 by a group of professionals, including António, who worked as a designer in Portugal and Ireland for over 30 years.

The real solution to the problems of an ocean in the process of destruction begins with the small changes you make within yourself.

Oxeani is the path to raising awareness of the constant threat that exists in today's ecosystem, dedicated to protecting the oceans and, consequently, protecting the future.

Today, each one of us is the protagonist, the one who chooses what kind of action to take in the face of a problem that affects everyone equally. We believe that the power of change extends to different industries, as well as those who opt for an ecological alternative. However, we know that in order to achieve the goal of environmental sustainability, we must engage in a profitable way with large companies.

All our footwear lines are ecological and sustainable. They are designed and produced to give new life to what was once waste. The oceans are dying, and we are responsible for it.

There is a close connection between economic relationships and processes of ecological degradation, depletion of natural resources, and environmental pollution. That's why we have chosen to use recycled materials from our various collaborators to put a stop to these practices.

Sempre desfrutei de passeios pela praia. Sou pai de três filhos adultos e as memórias mais felizes que eu tenho são caminhadas e aventuras ao pé do mar. Contudo em anos recentes eu reparei cada vez mais plástico a dar à costa. Tornou-se parte da nossa rotina recolhê-lo e reciclá-lo. Mas não parecia suficiente. Quando eu descobri que o plástico recolhido da praia não era reciclado e acabava num aterro ou queimado, eu percebi que tinha de fazer algo em relação a isto.

E foi assim que a Oxeani surgiu. Com a minha experiência como designer de sapatos eu encontrei uma maneira, por tentativa e erro, de destruir este plástico sem salvação, misturá-lo com borracha natural com uma entressola de cortiça e criar uma sandália atraente e comfortável para a Oxeani.

Para reduzir a nossa pegada ainda mais as sandálias Oxeani são um produto eco-vegan.

Por isso agora quando ando pela praia, ainda me parte o coração ver tanto plástico, mas se todos fizermos um pouco, ainda há esperança.
